France Midfielder Paul Pogba has said the team is still confident of being a force in the knockout stages despite being held to a draw by Ecuador in their final group match.
The South Americans held on for 0-0 despite being one man down with Antonio Valencia being sent off in the second.
The result puts them at the top of Group E which means they meet the Super Eagles at the knock out stage of the FIFA 2014 World Cup.
“We played well and put in the performance that was expected of us, but we didn't get the result we deserved. All we lacked was a bit of a break in front of goal, that's all,” the Juventus star was quoted on BBC Sport.
“I don't think this match will have any kind of negative effect on our confidence. We drew, we didn't lose. That's an important distinction. We can be satisfied with how we did overall and with our qualification for the knockout stages.”
The Super Eagles finished second Group F behind Argentina qualifying out of the group stage for the first time since 1998.
