Eedris AbdulKareem: “MTV Base is a fraud

I have noticed that anything a list about anything pops up, it always causes a lot of controversy among the celebrities.

Following the list of top 20 Nigerian songs of all time released for Nigeria’s 54th Independence by urban cable TV music station, MTV Base, a number of Nigerian entertainers continue to react to the list, with some describing it as incomplete while others are slamming the omission of notable hit songs that should have made the list.

One of the first to comment was pop sensation, Iyanya who felt bad that his 2012 hit song ‘Kukere’ didn’t make the list.

Controversial veteran rapper, Eedris Abdul Kareem has also spoken on the controversial list, with the rapper reserving some harsh words for MTV Base and branding the station a fraud.

His tweets read: ‘Where are the fela classic evergreen songs where is Nigeria jagajaga where is mr lecturer where is African china … Mtv is a fraud. Ubanku. I would like to say that from the director of research mtv Nigeria and all that made the selection of the evergreen songs may GOD punish you’.
